Knowing the size of your pages as well as the size of the page elements (i.e. images, code, etc.) is an important aspect in gaining and retaining visitors to your site. All of your useful content and information that you provide will be for nothing if it takes forever for your site to load. Just remember, THE SMALLER THE BETTER! Your goal should be the smallest pages possible without detracting from the site, you don’t want to remove all of your images to decrease page size and then no visitors stay on your site because it is not captivating.

These are great tools. Also there is a new tool http://www.urlaudit.com which check website for viruses, broken links, flash, scripts, frames, dead link, 404, encryption.
